sadly, we were forced to the iceweasel name, it wasn’t a choice, blame mozilla for this, not debian. I hate that name as much as anyone, probably more, but it’s the name we have to deal with if you run Debian systems, it’s not really choice, unless you install from tarballs, which I’m sure you’d agree is even geekier.

In a perfect world, mozilla corporation would have continued to allow Debian to change some small parts of Firefox while still calling it Firefox (the option that Everyone from Debian wanted), but Mozilla, with their air-head CEO, have chosen to go the corporate nonsense route, with ensuing excuses. And in a slightly more perfect world, Debian would not have chosen such a ridiculously stupid name as ‘iceweasel’ when forced to rename it for trademark purposes….

True, but I’ve tried Netscape (most versions 1 to 6), I’ve used Opera, I use Firefox on another computer, but I heretic that I am, I still prefer ie7.

Thank you for those kind words , well… my mother is using IE7 and she find it easier, its mainly depends on what you got used to… most of the people wont bother try any alternative and never know what they’re missing

Right on the mark, brother. Firefox rocked until it acquired the mass of a blue whale, Safari rocked when it started to work, Opera is way too elitist for the masses who equate Java with Javascript, etc.
