Finally, a Sale !
Posted by: Rea Maor In: Making Money Online - Wednesday, April 4th, 2007Those of you who read my blog (Hi grandma!) probably remember my post
Regarding selling one of my Websites (Selling one of my Sites)
This is actually the first website that I’ve received revenue from, over the last 3 years
Since I’ve founded the website I’ve been able to earn around 200 USD per month with it’¦ which was indeed very nice as extra income (especially when it was almost 0 work) but I’ve decided that I don’t want it any more, and I would like to develop myself in other directions. After 2 weeks listed on SitePoint’s Marketplace
I’ve been able to close the deal, sadly I did not receive the 3000 USD that I was
Hoping to get but only 2450 USD, which should be more then enough to carry
Me on for my next set of projects.
As we speak the buyer is sending payment via secure Escrow service and hopefully
I’ll have the money by the end of the week.
This is a great chance for me to write about Turnkey websites and Flipping websites for revenue. Expect a series of articles in the next few days.

How did you get the money ?
April 8th, 2007 at 13:59
Naturally using Escrow.com, it’s the best method.

Your access to Escrow.com has been denied.
I don’t know why
Anyway what are others good methods to receive the money for a website ?

Thats strange, anyway.
you can use Paypal.com, but you should know it’s not really secure and i’ve heard a lot of bad stories about them.
or you can try and use Western Union or Bank to Bank wire transfer, both of them are much better then paypal.
there’s anther service, e-gold.com, they are Very secure with funds, if you’ve received any funds to your e-gold account then they are safe there !.
among the big services Escrow.com is the best and must reliable, but if you insist you cannot login then feel free to try those http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=escrow+domain&btnG=Google+Search

I have to find more about this.Paypal I can’t use because is not accepted in my country, so the only solutions I think that are Western Union or Bank to Bank wire transfer.
Now another question …how the transaction is made ? How I give the domain, etc … and be sure that I got my money ?

if you don’t use a service like Escrow it makes it all harder as
you have to trust the Seller/Buyer and someone has to do the first step..
it’s really a risky business not using a 3rd company for these transactions.
April 8th, 2007 at 14:26
I’ve never made a transaction like this, but I’ll have one.
What 3rd company you suggest ? Sitepoint can do something like this ?
BTW – How much time it took to sell the website ?
April 8th, 2007 at 15:17
3rd company would be Escrow.com, if you cannot access it you better mail them
as nothing else is usable. as far as advertising a site for sell, yes. sitepoint would be best.
